Encino Rio Proposed Improvements
What is the Super Street going to mean for Encino Rio?
First, it's going to mean a safer drive and a quicker drive home in the evening. Based on the model done of the US 281 Super Street improvements, drivers at Encino Rio can anticipate saving about 7 minutes each evening during rush hour.

How did we get these numbers?
For the current roadway travel times, the numbers are based on model runs which have been verified by driving the corridor and timing multiple trips during both morning and evening drives over multiple days.
For the projected travel timesavings, the model was run and used what could be considered the worst-case scenario. That is, the model was programmed to run the two hour morning and evening drive time (peak period) using the highest traffic volume observed from real time counts down earlier this year, while school was still in session.
Traffic counts are broken down into 15-minute windows, and the highest 15-minute window was replicated, in the model, for the entire two hours to ensure that even under the worst possible conditions seen on US 281 today, the Super Street would still be able to provide relief.
